Hello, I am Selim
The weird and wonderful dessert experiments I cooked up as a child allowed me to try out different flavour combinations that were so out of the ordinary back then. Still today, one of my greatest joys is to enjoy and experience new tastes. After working for many years on different projects professionally, I decided to listen to my inner voice and return to those experiments with food.
Since I believe in developing new ideas inspired by my identity and culture, I was sure that making Turkish delight was the job for me. I learned how to make Turkish delight by trial and error in my own home, starting from scratch and working passionately to find the right recipe. Then I experimented with natural flavours and ingredients by altering the traditional Turkish delight recipe.
When it came to varieties and pairings I focused on fruit, spice and nut combinations, inspired by many different tastes from my culture. My main goal at Marsel Delights is to present unusual flavours and surprise people. After six months and hundreds of trials, my Turkish delights, which I now proudly present to you, were ready.
My taste story is inspired by the multicultural, hospitable, warm and complex textures of the Mediterranean. The synthesis in which the East and the West are intertwined sums up my life. Marsel, on the other hand, is the name of my grandfather who knew how to savor food and all life’s flavours behind it to the fullest. He is a true representative of the authentic culture in my family, which is unique in its blend of East and West.
With Marsel Delights, I wanted to update the tastes and sweets of the East, while adding a new story to this cultural melting pot of which I am proud to be a part of. I hope you enjoy our products as much as we do.
