Looking for Turkish Delight in Istanbul? Visit Our Lokum Bar
Whether it’s your first time in Istanbul or you’ve been living here for years, buying and tasting Turkish delight is an experience you shouldn’t miss. At Marsel Delights, we’ve designed an immersive space where visitors can see how our lokums are made, explore our artisan production area, and taste our creations at the lokum bar.
Artisan Production Space
At Marsel Delights, modernisation is at the heart of everything we do. We take tradition as our starting point and build upon it wherever possible — a philosophy that guides every product we create.
Our artisan production space in Bomonti, Istanbul follows our tradition of modernisation. It is designed to be open, welcoming, and educational. Visitors can see directly into our production kitchen and observe each step of the lokum-making process. The space includes dedicated rooms for cooking, resting, and finishing lokums, reflecting the meticulous care and precision in every batch.
Guests are encouraged to walk through the space and observe our team at work, seeing how carefully developed processes and high-quality ingredients come together to create our products. At the end of the visit, visitors can taste the freshly made lokums at the lokum bar, experiencing the results of craftsmanship firsthand.
Our Lokum Bar & Tasting
Our Bomonti space is where visitors can see, taste, and purchase our lokums. At the lokum bar, guests can try a variety of flavors, from classic signature lokums to small-batch and experimental varieties.
Visitors can also enjoy a drink while tasting, with options including tea, espresso, or filter coffee, which complement the flavors of the lokums. All products are freshly made on-site and available for purchase, including individual pieces, boxes, and gift sets, so guests can take home a piece of the experience.
For those who want to learn more about our craft, we offer a 1.5-hour blind tasting session through our Airbnb Experience listing. The tasting takes place in our lokum bar, where guests sample all of our lokum varieties. Each guest receives a spider chart diagram to rate the flavors across eight sensory variables, providing a hands-on understanding of the taste, texture, and aroma of each piece.
This guided session offers an educational and interactive experience, ideal for food enthusiasts, visitors curious about Turkish delight, or anyone looking for a unique activity in Istanbul.
Bomonti as a Cultural and Creative Neighborhood
Bomonti is one of Istanbul’s most dynamic and rapidly evolving neighborhoods, blending industrial heritage with contemporary culture. Its streets bring together people from diverse backgrounds, creating a vibrant and creative atmosphere.
The neighborhood takes its name from Swiss entrepreneurs who founded Istanbul’s first modern brewery here in 1890, now transformed into a cultural center with restaurants, galleries, and event spaces. Bomonti is also home to Turkey’s first chocolate and confectionery factory, highlighting its long-standing connection to food and craftsmanship.
We are proud to be part of such a rich cultural heritage and aim to contribute to the neighborhood in our own way, sharing our passion for artisan lokum while embracing the creative energy that surrounds us.
